Tutkimukseen otetaan enintään 50 vähintään vuoden ikäistä glen of imaalinterrieriä, joiden kyynärvarsista ja lonkista otetaan röntgenkuvat (yhteensä 5 kuvaa/koira) rauhoituksessa. Osa koirista kuvataan Yliopistollisessa Eläinsairaalassa (YES) ja osa Keski-Uudenmaan eläinlääkäriasemalla (ELL Johanna Parkkisenniemi). Kaikkien koirien biomekaniikkatutkimukset ja ortopedinen tutkimus tehdään Yliopistollisessa eläinsairaalassa. Röntgenkuvauksen ja toiminnallisten tutkimusten väli on enintään 2 viikkoa.

YES:ssa tehtävät röntgenkuvaukset suoritetaan toiminnallisten tutkimusten jälkeen. Tutkimukset tehdään perjantai-iltapäiväisin. Ajat varataan Leena Glansin kautta. Koira rauhoitetaan röntgentutkimusta varten eikä sillä saa olla sellaista sairautta, joka estää turvallisen rauhoituksen (esim. sydänvika).  Tutkimuspäivän aamuna koiralle ei anneta ruokaa, vettä voi antaa vapaasti. Käyttäkää koira tarpeillaan ennen tutkimukseen tuloa. Rauhoituksella on 7 vrk doping-varoaika Kennelliiton tilaisuuksiin.

A maximun of 50 Glen of Imaal Terriers will be taken as part of the research, the dogs must be atleast one year old. The dogs will be sedated and have their hips and forearms X-rayed (a total of five X-ray pictures per dog). A part of the dogs will be X-rayed in  the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (Yliopistollinen Eläinsairaala, YES) and a part in Keski-Uudenmaan veterinary station (by veterinarian Johanna Parkkisenniemi). The biomechanical and orthopedic research for all of the dogs participating in this research will be done in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (YES). There will be a maximum of a  two week space between the X-rays and functional examinations.

The X-ray examinations that are done in YES will be performed after the functional exminations. They will be performed on Friday afternoons and appointments will be booked through Leena Glans. The dogs will be sedated for the X-rays and they must not have an illness/ illnesses that could prevent a safe sedation (e.g. heart disease). On the day of the research the dogs must not be fed, water should be freely available. Take you dog for pee & poo before coming to the clinic. The sedation will cause a 7 day doping quarantine for any events hosted by the Finnish Kennel Club.
